So, Yeah. The hobby butter fly strikes again.

DA START OF DA WAAAAGH

So this is the start of the Waaagh. After a week away with nothing to do in the evenings ,I managed to prep 15 Killer Kans, and with some inspiration from the GW store in Portsmouth I settled on a colour scheme that was quick and effective.

I decided to use Halfords red undercoat as i was going to be doing a chipping technique and if I accidentally took to much paint off, then it might not look all that bad...  the bases were all done with matt black (also Halfords)
Sod Ya poxy Nid Sticks, I give you a Glyph stick!

So about an hour later everything was under coated..

So I did have plans to go and see Deadpool, but I was taken over by Nurgle or something and shortly after taking the last pic I had to take my self to bed whilst some random fever or something took hold of me...

So after waking up with a head full of lead and now being somewhat rested, I found myself with a free evening...  starting for about 2000 hrs.

One free evening later and I managed to do all the base colours.  All rusty tones done haphazardly, no planning went into what got sprayed where.

The following day and I started with a rough dry brush of bolt gun metal, again, no great thought was put into this the reasons will become apparent later.
After a wash of devlin mud though the airbrush the models were given a health coat of hairspray (not from a can)

The Blue Ork Group

And so the onslaught continues... the hairspray did not take long to dry so everything started I started with the blues.  I've used VMA intermediate blue (71005) as an 'undercoat' flowed by VMA Blue (71004) .  Again, no great precision was used, just thew it on...
So, once all the the chaps were done  it was time to make with the chipping.  All I used was a stiff brush and some water, being careful not to take too much of the blue paint off.
This is the final effect of the chipping.  The random painting of the rust tones and the rough dry brush show through after the chipping is done, there will be more washes of the rust tones to bring that orkiness through and the rivets will all be picked out...

But for now, thats 18 Killer Kans and a Def Dread ready to start :)  not bad for about 14 hours work :)
