Major time away...

At the start of the year (Pre Blog) a group of like minded painters got together over noodles and green tea and spoke at length about all things painting and hobby.  One of the off shoots of that conversation was an idea to produce 250 points of 40k a month, for 6 months (with 1 month off for whatever reason) with a view to produce 1500 points of a new army!  so all in, the challenge should be complete by July 2013.... My personal goal was to produce a Raven wing army, and with the new Dark Angle Codex on the horizon it seemed like a good idea.

October update:

I recall someone once saying "Plans are rarely worth having, but planning is essential" as laid out above there was going to be a clearly defined set of goals! unfortunately Life, work and the Golden Daemons got in the way and we all fell by the way side! The only one of us to make any dent in the intended goals was Damien, and he is still churning out the model as we speak.

I've reached the final target of 1500 points, so for that I'm happy, but there are still many models left to go till the full force is complete, 4x Land Speeders, 6x Black Knights and a chaplain/Librarian will round out the Ravenwing portion of the army. To be honest the Raven wing do not play that well in game, mybe it's me, maybe it's the battles I play, but most of the time the bikes, being expensive and few in number, don;t last all that long. more play testing is needed me thinks.

However, I have also acquired a sizeable force of Deathwing Terminators, now that they are prepped, they will soon be on the table, all I need to do is get a Landraider or two and I will have a formidable Dark Angel force. I think!
